If this hormone is out of balance, the fertilised egg can usually not implant.<\/li>\n<li><strong>DHEA-S<\/strong> (dehydroepiandrosterone) \u2013 is also known as the &#8220;feel-good hormone&#8221; as it has anti-depressive effects. It also helps to maintain libido.<\/li>\n<li><strong>LH<\/strong> (luteinising hormone) \u2013 controls ovarian function and ovulation. LH levels that are too low may cause infertility.<\/li>\n<li><strong>FSH<\/strong> (follicle stimulating hormone) \u2013 provides information about the eggs\u2019 maturity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SHBG<\/strong> (sex hormone binding globulin) \u2013 is a protein that transports sex hormones in the blood.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Testosterone <\/strong>\u2013 Women also have this male sex hormone. Levels that are too high may be a cause of infertility.<\/li>\n<li><strong>IGF-1<\/strong> (insulin-like growth factor 1) \u2013 provides information on certain metabolic processes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Estradiol <\/strong>(E2) \u2013 contributes to the monthly development of the uterine lining.
