You can also decide for yourself whether you prefer a general or local anesthetic for the procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The procedure itself will be carried out on an outpatient basis by a consultant urologist and takes about <strong>20 minutes<\/strong>. During this <strong>routine operation<\/strong>, the sperm ducts will be cut, which prevents sperm cells from entering the sperm fluid, making fertilisation of the female egg impossible and thus preventing pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>The surgery will be followed by a <strong>short recovery time<\/strong>, which is about 15 minutes after local anesthesia and approximately 1 hour after general anesthesia.
